At our cattery, we are proud to offer a variety of adorable and healthy kittens for adoption. Our kittens are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and each one is special and unique in its own way.
However, before you can take your new furry friend home, there are a few important steps to take. First, you will need to complete an application, which we will carefully review to make sure that the kitten will be going to a suitable and loving home. If you are accepted, we will then take a non-refundable deposit of $500 to reserve your chosen kitten. This deposit will ensure that the kitten will be held for you until it is ready to join its new family.
At our cattery, we take great care of all of our kittens, and we want to ensure that they are well prepared for their new homes. As such, the kittens will remain with us until they are approximately 13 to 15 weeks of age. This time will be spent helping them grow, socializing with other cats, and becoming accustomed to the sounds and routines of a home.
When the time comes for your kitten to join you, you can expect a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted companion. To help make the transition as smooth as possible, we will provide you with all the information and resources you need to ensure your new kitten's happiness and well-being.
We understand that adding a new kitten to your family is an exciting and memorable experience, and we are here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are always here to help, and we look forward to helping you find your new furry friend.
The Depths of Moria Cattery is proud to offer the most magnificent and loving companion for your home, the Maine Coon kitten. Our kittens are exclusively for indoor living and come with a compulsory spay/neuter agreement to ensure their well-being and longevity. We understand the significance of a responsible pet ownership, which is why we have put in place strict protocols to ensure that the kittens are in the best possible health before they embark on their journey to their forever homes.
At a minimum age of 13-15 weeks, our kittens will be ready to leave us and become a cherished member of your family. Before they go, our trusted veterinary at East Oak Animal Hospital will administer all the necessary shots and tests, including FELV & FIV, to guarantee that your new furry friend is in tip-top shape. Our veterinary will also provide all the required documentation for your records, so you can rest assured that your kitten is protected and healthy.
We are confident in the health of our kittens and stand behind their well-being, which is why we offer a 2-year written health guarantee. This guarantee covers any genetic or birth defects that may negatively affect the kitten's life. In the unlikely event that a defect occurs within the first 2 years, we require a veterinarian to document the issue, and upon receipt of the documentation, we will refund the purchase price if deemed necessary. No one should ever have to give up their beloved kitten, and it is our commitment to ensure that they receive the best care possible. In the unfortunate case of a kitten's death, a necropsy by a vet or animal lab will be required to determine the cause.
Once the spay/neuter agreement has been fulfilled, we will provide the kitten's registration application, and we expect females to be spayed by 6 months of age and males to be neutered between 8-10 months. It is imperative to adhere to these guidelines as early neutering can negatively impact the kitten's growth, including head size, boning development, hip and knee development, and overall size. Late neutering may also result in hormonal behavior and the risk of spraying. Non-compliance with the spay/neuter agreement will result in repossession of the kitten.
The Maine Coon breed is a captivating feline species that possesses both physical beauty and amiable personalities. These kittens are born with soft, short fur that gradually becomes thicker and longer as they grow older. By the time they are one year old, they have approximately 1 inch of fur and a slightly bushy tail, however, their appearance reaches its peak by the age of two, with a stunning ruff around their head, 4 inches of fur, and an impressively bushy tail. Despite this, they are not considered fully grown until they reach the age of four.
Maine Coons are well-known for their friendly and social nature, often interacting with humans in a playful and affectionate manner. However, like many young animals, they can also go through a phase of independence during their teenage years, which usually lasts from 6 months to a year. As they mature and settle down, they become much more loving and enjoy the company of their human companions. By the time they are two to three years old, they often become true “lap cats”, seeking out their owner’s laps for comfort and cuddles as soon as they sit down.Although these cats are charming and adorable, it is important to remember that they are also energetic and curious creatures, especially as young kittens. If you have any breakable items in your home, it is advisable to put them away during the first year of a kitten’s life, as they have a tendency to be quite busy and adventurous. We recommend large, sturdy cat trees for these large cats, as well as plenty of interactive toys to keep them busy!
Maine Coon kittens are known for their fast growth, especially during their first year of life. From 1 to 8 months of age, they will double in size each month and continue to grow until they reach 4 years of age. The growth is not just limited to weight, as they will also double in length and height during this period.
Male Maine Coons tend to grow faster and add approximately 2 pounds each month during their first year. However, this may vary for some males. On the other hand, female Maine Coons also grow at a fast pace, but not as fast as their male counterparts.
When it comes to feeding Maine Coon kittens, it's important to give them all the food they need to support their rapid growth. During their first year, they have a high energy level and require a lot of nourishment to keep up with their growth. Think of it like feeding a teenage boy, as overfeeding should not be a concern during this stage. To ensure they are getting the best nutrition, it's recommended to provide them with high-quality dry food, wet food, and supplements. Which is crucial that these cats get a high-quality diet is crucial for their health and wellbeing. A good quality dry food, along with wet food and supplements, should be provided to ensure they receive all the nutrients they need to thrive. If you need assistance choosing the right food, the breeders are more than happy to offer recommendations. Each kitten will be given a sample bag of food upon adoption, making the transition to their new home as smooth as possible.

Along with the health certificates, a carrier, toys, and a small bag of their current food, a two-year written health guarantee is also provided for each kitten. However, it is important to note that should the kitten be allowed to venture outside, declawed, or not spayed or neutered within the specified time frame, the health guarantee will become null and void and the purchase price will not be refunded.

This guarantee safeguards against any genetic defects that may arise within the first two years from the date of purchase. However, it is imperative that the buyer provides proof of spay/neuter confirmation, as failure to do so will render the guarantee void.
Our feline companions are available for adoption year-round and are typically 13-15 weeks of age at the time of placement in their new homes. To ensure that they are in the best of health, all kittens undergo a thorough examination by a veterinarian and are tested for FELV & FIV, in addition to receiving all required shots (excluding rabies).
We take great pride in the health and well-being of our cats and as such, all kittens are guaranteed to be parasite-free, with no fleas, ear mites, lice, worms or any other type of parasite. Additionally, adult cats may become available occasionally, but only due to their previous owners being unable to keep them for various reasons. Currently, we do not resell retired breeders as they are considered an integral part of our family.
In order to maintain the validity of the 2-year health guarantee, the spay/neuter agreement must be fulfilled by the buyer. The TICA registered Main Coon Kitten is sold as either a pet or show alter. The buyer, as part of the purchase agreement, must agree to have the kitten altered by a veterinarian at the age of six months for female kittens and ten months for male kittens. Once the breeder receives verification of the altering from the veterinarian, the breeder will provide the buyer with a kitten registration application to register the kitten with TICA (The International Cat Association).
In the case where the verification of altering is not received by the breeder within 60 days, an additional payment equal to the original purchase price will be immediately due and payable. If the buyer fails to comply with the terms of this agreement, the seller reserves the right to repossess the kitten.
To obtain the kitten registration application, the alter statement from the veterinarian must include the following minimum information: Vet or Vet Clinic name, date of altering, owner name, cat name, breed, date of birth, sex, and color.
The feline being sold is intended for indoor living only, and if the cat is allowed to roam outside or undergoes declawing, all health guarantees will become null and void. As a part of the agreement, the buyer is obligated to have the cat spayed or neutered, and must provide confirmation of the procedure to the breeder. Failure to do so will result in the invalidation of the 2-year health guarantee.
The cat is ensured to be free of Feline Leukemia Virus (FELV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) at the time of sale, as well as free of any internal or external parasites. The feline is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale, and the guarantee encompasses any viral, bacterial, or fungal diseases, extending for seven days from the date of sale.
For a period of two years from the date of sale, the cat is also protected against any genetic or birth defects that could negatively impact its health. If the cat passes away within this two-year window, a necropsy must be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Although it is merely suggested and not a requirement, it is advised that the new cat owner have the feline examined by a licensed veterinarian within seven days of receipt. If the cat shows signs of illness during the guarantee period, it should be promptly examined by a veterinarian. If the illness is found to have been present prior to the sale, the breeder must be notified immediately, and upon receipt of a statement from the examining vet, the breeder will cover the cost of medical treatment, not exceeding the purchase price of the cat.
If the cat passes away due to a problem present prior to the sale, the breeder will refund the purchase price if deemed necessary. The breeder's total liability will not exceed the total sale price of this contract, minus any medical payments that have been reimbursed to the buyer.
In the unlikely event that the cat/kitten's owner is unable to continue providing proper care, the breeder reserves the right of first refusal in reclaiming ownership of the feline. The former owner will be responsible for the costs associated with transporting the cat/kitten back to the breeder's cattery, and no compensation or reimbursement will be given for this transfer.
It is imperative that the breeder is notified of any change in ownership and the cat/kitten is never surrendered to a shelter. Failure to inform the breeder and surrendering the cat to a shelter could result in legal fees, as the signed contract serves as a legally binding document.
In cases where the cat is found in a neglectful environment, the breeder retains the right to seize the feline at the former owner's expense, which may also result in legal fees.
The breeder takes pride in placing their cats in loving homes that can provide proper nutrition, love, and healthy living conditions. For the convenience of the new owner, a copy of the cat/kitten's health records will be attached to the final signed sales agreement.
