At The Depths of Moria, we are dedicated to finding the perfect forever homes for our feline friends. That is why, prior to making any deposits, we require all interested parties to submit a kitten application for review. This application will give us a deeper understanding of your lifestyle, family, and home environment to determine whether or not you are the ideal match for one of our cherished felines.
We understand that the process of finding a furry companion can be exciting and we want to make sure that each and every cat is placed in a loving, nurturing and safe home. Our goal is to provide a seamless experience for our clients and that is why we ask that you take the time to complete the application with care and attention to detail.
We will thoroughly review each application and once the review process has been completed, we will be in touch to either inform you that you have been approved and are ready to place a deposit, or if we feel that now is not the right time for you to adopt one of our precious cats.
It is important to note that we will not accept any deposits without the completion of the kitten application. This is a crucial step in the adoption process and helps us to ensure that our cats are placed in responsible, loving and permanent homes.
So, if you are searching for a new feline friend and are ready to embark on the journey of pet ownership, we welcome you to submit your kitten application today. At The Depths of Moria, we are committed to finding the perfect match for you and your family!

The tiny furball is likely full of energy, playfulness, and purring, and everyone in your household is undoubtedly over the moon with excitement. However, as you prepare to introduce this new baby into your home, it is important to remember that your kitten is just that - a baby. With that in mind, here are some key things to keep in mind as you begin this new chapter.
First and foremost, it is important to understand that your kitten is not yet fully acclimated to its new surroundings and may not be ready to have free reign of your entire home. To start, keep the kitten confined to a small, isolated room. A smaller room is ideal as it will help the kitten feel more secure in its new environment. To provide comfort, make sure to leave a night light on in the room, as the kitten may be intimidated in its new surroundings.
Once the kitten has had a chance to settle in, gradually introduce it to any other pets you have. Usually within a few days to a week, the kitten will be ready to play and interact with other pets. It is important to supervise all interactions between the kitten and older pets for several weeks, as the older pets may take a little longer to adjust to the new addition.
In order to help your kitten feel comfortable and prevent destructive behavior, be sure to provide it with a scratching post from the get-go. This will give the kitten an outlet for its natural instincts and help it adjust more quickly to its new home.
Do not be concerned if your kitten does not immediately use the litter box or if it does not eat anything in the first 24 hours. This is not uncommon, and each kitten is different in terms of how quickly they adjust to their new surroundings. To ensure your kitten's health and wellbeing, provide it with dry cat food that is available 24/7, as well as cat treats, canned food, supplements, and other products as needed. For the best results, use bottled or distilled water, as some tap water may contain chemicals that could upset your kitten's digestive system.
If your kitten experiences digestive issues during the transition period, you can try mixing about half a can of 100% pumpkin with a little water to make a thick, soupy mixture. Leave the mixture out 24/7, and it should help resolve any stomach issues in a few days.
Maine Coons are known for their playful, energetic personalities, and it is not uncommon for them to have a short attention span. They may enjoy playing in water, but this phase usually passes quickly as they mature. It is also important to keep bathroom lids closed, as kittens may try to play in the toilet. While they may not be lap cats in the first few months, most Maine Coons will become much calmer and more loving as they mature, often becoming attached to their owners and following them everywhere they go.
With these tips and a little patience, you are sure to enjoy a long, happy, and fulfilling relationship with your new kitten.
At The Depths of Moria, we believe in the importance of ensuring the well-being of our feline companions. As such, we strongly advocate against the practice of shipping our kittens. Instead, we highly recommend coming to the cattery to personally pick up your new feline friend.
In the event that traveling to the cattery proves challenging, we are willing to arrange for transportation services, up to 100 miles from our location, at no extra cost. However, if the distance exceeds 100 miles, a fee may be incurred.
We understand that some circumstances may call for air travel, and in such cases, we request that either you, the new pet parent, accompany the kitten on the flight, or appoint a Pet Nanny to be there for the furry companion during the journey. We firmly believe that kittens are not mere commodities, and as such, should not be treated as cargo.
Our commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of our cats extends beyond just the sale. By ensuring that our kittens are not subjected to the harsh conditions of cargo holds, we strive to provide a seamless transition into their new homes, where they can thrive and flourish.
